
Korean Hornbeam
Scientific name: Carpinus coreana
Origin: Korea
Distinguishing feature: Smallest leaves of all capinus, and reduces in size with increased ramification. It is in the Birch family although it grows slowly and stays small.
Style: Informal upright, simulating a typical heritage tree.
History: It started as a 5 gallon nursery stock purchased in 2005 and grew in a 15 gallon pot to gain trunk size. It was moved into an oversized bonsai pot in 2014 and put into this pot in 2019.
