Catlin Elm
Scientific name: Ulmus Parvifolia var. catlin
Origin: John Catlin, La Canada, CA
Distinguishing feature: Dwarf shining green foliage; evergreen in mild CA climate.
Style: Cascade
History: Started as a cutting in 2010 and grew in a 5 gallon nursery can. A long root was used to make into a cascade taking advantage of the natural curvatures. I shaped it with the cut and grow method; this bonsai has never been wired.
